Seasons Greetings
Bob and the Friday Folk Committee
Hi,
We had a committee meeting recently and decided to send out an update to
Friday Folk members. In reality there is not a lot to report. Of course
we intend to restart our weekly club meetings as soon as we can. We have
musicians and callers lined up and available to take part when required,
for Friday and Saturday dances.
I hope you are managing OK during the present restrictions. You may like
to join in our weekly Zoom meeting which takes place on Fridays at 8:00.
Please contact me for details.
Alternatively, you may prefer one-to-one contacts. Many Friday Folk
members have been keeping in touch directly by phone and would welcome a
chat. If you need phone numbers, etc, then committee members will be
pleased to help whilst maintaining privacy as necessary.
Before Christmas there was a carol singing evening to raise money for
Rennie Grove Hospice Care. Six people (the maximum allowed at the time)
performed in the streets of Fleetville. On the night they raised £175.
Friday Folk and other members added their own contributions so the final
total was £330. Well done!
If you are interested in doing some voluntary work, the Communities 1st
site is the place to go. The link is below. They can direct you towards
local opportunities like stewarding at vaccination centres and helping
people who are housebound.
With best wishes from Friday Folk.
